- Combine flour, salt and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Remove skin from chicken and dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil over med-high heat and brown each piece - set aside in a baking dish.
- In frying pan brown onins and mushrooms; adding a little more oil if needed.
- Spread onion/mushroom mixture over chicken in baking dish.
- To frying pan add water and scrape brown bits off of pan. Pour over chicken, mushrooms and onion mixture.
- Pour 1 Tbsp corn syrup over each chicken piece and then top each piece with about 1/8 Tsp dried basil (or to your own taste).
- Bake uncovered in a 350F oven 30-40mins or until chicken is tender.
- Baste occasionally with liquid in baking dish.
This can be prepared ahead and refrigerated until baking time.
